Strathmashy waterfall
Commando war memorial and Nevis lookout
Loch Ness
Eilon Donnan Castle
Sligachan Viewpoint
A short drive out of Edinburgh and you will be greeted with the Majestic site of the largest structures in Scotland the Bridges from here we hop up to Dunkeld ancient site which was once Scotland's capital. Here you will find beautiful Bakeries and can have a walk along the banks of Scotland's longest river that mighty Tay.
we then journey up into the cairngorm mountains. This is the kingdom of the Pics, an ancient people that the Romans who came here over 2000 years ago were certainly terrified of.
We will enjoy a walk at a beautiful waterfall. Look out from the commando War Memorial at Britain's tallest mountain, the Nevis range.
Please understand there are no guarantees on seeing the Loch Ness monster but you will see another monster which is Loch Ness itself, the largest body of water in the United Kingdom. Once you have time to drink it in, we will then drive along the road to Elienn Donnan Castle, which you may visit if you wish.
We are now arriving on Skye. One more stunningly beautiful viewpoint to take in off the Black and Red Cullin mountain ranges from the Sligachan viewpoint and then on to Portree to drop you off at your accommodation.
Day 2
Trotternish peninsula
Kilt rock
Falls of Lealt
Quirang
Uig
Island on the edge (real working croft experience)
Dun Beag Broch
Dunvegan castle and seal watching
I have been leading tours on Skye for over 15 years and can assure you that it's not possible to see everything in a day. In fact a week would not be long enough. Good news is I think I have a day on Skye down to a fine art.
Therefore it is a highly flexible day. With short distances between stops. On a McScotland tour we pride ourselves on quality over quantity and showing you the must see places but also showing you beautiful places without big coach loads of people. Places I cannot list here for obvious reasons. Its your day. Let us tailor it around you.
Day 3
Skye bridge
Fort William
Glencoe
Rannoch moor
Loch Lubnaig
Callander
Stirling Castle
It's time to head home but it's not over. As we drive off the island we will stop to look back at the beautiful mountains and the sky Bridge. Before long you will see the five Sisters of Kintail Waiting at the end of loch duich for there princes. Onward east to the great glen and Fort William the capital of outdoor activities in the highland of Scotland, an important garrison fort for the british and the second largest settlement after Inverness.
Glenn Close Glencoe is reputed to be one of the most beautiful glands in Scotland and I am happy to agree it is also haunted by its history including a massacre which took place of the clan McDonald who used to reside in this shadowy mountainscape.
A little further along the road it's the rannoch moor. A 50 square mile peat bog and wilderness which once was a super volcano 400 million years ago. So we have had some hot Summers in fact in Scotland!
We will stop at one of my favorite places loch lubnaig for refreshment and a last look at the Highland territory before we drive over the fault line back into the lowland territory. You may wish to dip your feet in the loch, very refreshing.
From here is back to Edinburgh passing by, Doune castle, Stirling castle the Kelpies and arriving back your accommodation after a fantastic three day adventure.
